A couple of things to keep in mind about oil drilling:
ReplyDelete1. Oil pockets are not static or sealed. They all leak and over time will be displaced by water.
2. The beaches in the Santa Barbara Channel off California used to be unusable because they were coated with leaking oil until the oil companies began drilling there and relieved the pressure.
Also, they key to reducing pollution is to decrease the world population. They most humane way to do that is to increase the world standard of living. Cheap energy is the primary driver of increased wealth for a country which increases the standard of living which in turn stabilizes the population growth.
Just something to think about!
